Exodus 14:10-11Read the Bible passage
10When Pharaoh came near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them; and they were very afraid. Why have you treated us this way, to bring us out of Egypt?

The Promise
Moses doesn't tell them to fight or swim. He tells them: “Stand firm... The Lord will fight for you!”
Exodus 14:13-14Read the Bible passage
13Moses said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today; for you will never again see the Egyptians whom you have seen today. 14The LORD will fight for you, and you shall be still.”

Exodus 14:19-20Read the Bible passage
19The angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them, and stood behind them. 20It came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel. Exodus 14:19-20 (World English Bible, British Edition) - 4
The Dry Road
God sends a mighty wind to split the sea. He makes a safe, dry road where there was no road!
Exodus 14:21-22Read the Bible passage
21Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. 22The children of Israel went into the middle of the sea on the dry ground; and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
Exodus 14:21-22 (World English Bible, British Edition)
Core truths
STAND STILL
God didn't ask the Israelites to figure out the impossible. He asked them to stop panicking and trust Him.
THE WAY-MAKER BADGE
Awarded for trusting that God can make a road where there is no road.
SALVATION
Salvation belongs entirely to God. He held the water up and blocked the enemy so His people could walk free.
Why it matters
- Corrects the secular “take a brave step” trap by highlighting that God's unilateral salvation is the true miracle.
- Comforts children who feel trapped or helpless by a scary situation they can't fix on their own.
- Teaches that faith sometimes means stopping our frantic worrying and waiting for God to show His path.
Let's talk and pray
Talk
The Israelites couldn't fight the army, and they couldn't swim across the sea. How does it feel to know God is strong enough to fight for you?
Pray
Dear God, sometimes my problems feel as big as a giant ocean. Help me to be still and trust You to make a way. Amen.
