Reader profiles and reading progress in StoryArk for iOS 1.4.0 are stored on your device. Purchase records and support correspondence are handled separately. A parent or guardian can use the steps below to remove local data or request deletion of information we hold.
1. Remove Local App Data
On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, then General, then iPhone Storage or iPad Storage. Select StoryArk and choose Delete App. This removes the app and its local profile, reading progress, favourites, badges and preferences from that device. Offloading the app preserves its documents and data, so it is not the same as deleting it.
Local progress may be lost permanently. Copies may remain in device backups and could return if you restore a backup. Manage those backups through your device or backup provider. The released app does not offer a “Reset App Data” button in Parents' Quarters.
2. Request Deletion of Information We Hold
Email hello@storyark.co with the subject “Data deletion request”. Tell us whether your request concerns subscription records, support correspondence or previously collected analytics. Please do not send passwords, payment card details or unnecessary personal information about a child. We may ask for information needed to locate the relevant records and verify that you are entitled to request their deletion.
We will delete personal information we hold within 30 days of your request, except where retention is required by law, and explain any records that must be retained. Records held independently by Apple, Google or other providers are subject to their own policies.
3. Subscriptions Are Separate
Deleting StoryArk does not cancel your subscription or automatically erase purchase history held by Apple, Google or RevenueCat. Manage or cancel your subscription through the store where you purchased it. Contact us if you need help with a deletion request involving subscription information in our systems.
4. Older Versions and Analytics
iOS 1.4.0 does not include PostHog. In older versions that offer “Help Improve StoryArk”, turning it off stops optional usage reporting but does not delete data already collected. Updating the app also does not erase historical records. You can contact us about those records using the email above.
